Sweet Sixteen Planning Ideas - Princess Party!

Arlene Pecora has many ideas for hosting special events - and Sweet Sixteen parties are no exception!
Throw an amazing party, showing off your little princess! Favors and accessories for this theme are easy to find and affordable too! Any planner or parent will love putting this "royal" occasion together!

Any little girl should have her very own princess party, whether she’s six years old or sixteen years old. You have the power to make that happen, preferably while she’s still young so the party won’t cost as much to throw as say the typical Sweet Sixteen Princess party! If that’s what she want though…
Most princess parties are naturally themed in pink and pastel colors, but you can make it a little more different and classy by using gold, clear or silver colors instead. This works great for an older girls’ party and makes it a bit more tolerable for the rest of the party guests to attend and have fun at.

Signature Grand Photography Tips & Tricks

Wedding costs can definitely break the bank - but they don't have to. Signature Grand has a few tips and tricks to successfully photograph your wedding by yourself and save thousands of dollars!

  • Have a written plan. Don’t assume that your designated photographer will know where and when to point and click. Make a list of all of the people, poses, and events you want to immortalize on film. This will help make sure that important guests, like the father of the bride, and significant milestones, like the exchanging of the rings, aren’t absent from your beach wedding album. One idea is to group the shot list by specific event, starting with the rehearsal and continuing through the reception.
  • To prevent the subjects from getting dwarfed by the expansive surroundings, make sure the camera zooms in as close as possible (without blurring). For a majority of the shots, have the photographer stand in front of the sun to minimize the shadows and silhouettes that can detract from the subjects. If you do want a couple of silhouette shots (which can be very romantic), do the opposite.
  • Make sure pictures are taken throughout the course of the day and evening, as different lighting options will afford different photographic opportunities.
  • While you’ll want some formal posed shots of the bride, groom, and wedding party, the laid-back, relaxed nature of a beach wedding also calls for some fun candid shots. Often, it’s the unplanned photos that best capture the spirit of the event.
  • Plan on taking double the amount of photos you would normally. With outdoor beach wedding photography, there are more factors that can potentially compromise the quality of the photos. The more shots you have, the better the chances that you’ll wind up with some terrific images of your sand ceremony!

Signature Grand Beach Wedding Tips

While the bride’s gown is always the most scene-stealing garment at any wedding, the groom’s garb comes in at a close second. For traditional church weddings, a basic black tuxedo is the most common selection, but beach weddings allow a little more leeway when it comes to choosing his attire.
  • When shopping for the groom’s beach wedding ensemble, consider opting for shades that coordinate with the natural backdrop of the sand and sea, such as white, cream, tan, peach, or light blue. Adding small amounts of black can provide a dramatic contrast.
  • Keep the weather in mind. If you’re getting married in a humid, tropical climate, the groom probably won’t want to wear a heavy jacket, tie, vest, or cummerbund. Both of you will enjoy your special day all the more if you stay as cool and comfortable as possible.
  • Although a beach wedding allows for a more relaxed, laid-back ensemble, there’s also no rule against opting for traditional, formal attire. A light-colored suit looks dashing against a striking coastal sunset.
  • Even if you opt for more informal attire, it should still be classy. You’re likely to be disappointed by your wedding photos if the groom wears T-shirts, swim trunks, and flip-flops. Sand ceremonies still deserve a measure of respect. A nice white Oxford, a crisp pair of chinos, and leather boat shoes achieve just the right blend of crisp and casual.
  • If your groom does want to wear a suit, avoid heavy, dark fabrics that can cause overheating. Opt for lighter-colored cotton or linen materials that are breathable and won’t absorb the heat from the sun.
  • If you’re getting married on the beaches of Mexico, you might consider choosing a festive “guayabera” shirt. Also known as the Mexican wedding shirt, this relaxed garment is usually made from cotton or linen. In Hawaii, floral “aloha” shirts are a popular choice, usually worn untucked over khaki pants.
  • For very casual weddings, shorts may be appropriate, but they should be nicely tailored and made from cotton or linen. Avoid board shorts and swim trunks. Pair shorts with a crisp, button-up shirt rather than a cotton tee-shirt.
  • Dress shoes are not a requirement for beach weddings, unless your groom has chosen a traditional tuxedo or suit. For more relaxed ensembles, it’s perfectly acceptable for him to go barefoot or to wear sandals. Casual leather loafers (also known as “boat shoes”) are also a popular choice.

Whatever style of attire your groom prefers, make sure his ensemble coordinates well with your gown. You don’t necessarily have to wear the exact same colors—sometimes a dramatic contrast is best—but you should avoid choosing shades or patterns that noticeably clash.

Arlene Pecora and The Signature Grand are proud to introduce their new Web-Site! This exquisite layout features prime event vendors, upcoming events, cuisine, testimonials, FAQ's and more!

The Signature Grand Testimonials:

"My brother had his wedding here and it was magnificent. As part of the bridal party we were ensconced in privacy prior to the service. This place is well organized and it ran smoothly. I have attended business functions here and a cocktail party and would have never known how many other events occur in the same building at the same time had I not been to a variety of them." - Z.G.
"I wouldn't hesitate to have any event at Signature Grand. I've had corporate events there when I managed a company, I've attended different meetings there, and I've been to several weddings. It's somewhat factory-like in how they get hundreds of people served at once, but it's also fascinating. They have it down to a fine science, and the service is efficient and the food delicious. The facility itself is magnificent, and I'm never disappointed to receive an invitation to a function at Signature Grand." - Lynn B.
